Filemaker Inc. ha lanciato la terza versione di Bento, il database semplice, portando una serie di interessanti novità . L’applicazione per Mac OS X, compatibile con Snow Leopard, è disponibile, anche se in versione ridotta, anche per iPhone e iPod touch su App Store.
Con Bento 3 è possibile sceglie fra e tra i 35 modelli predefiniti forniti, più quelli scaricati e importati da altri utenti che condividono i propri interessi. Con i modelli forniti si possono organizzare contatti, associazioni e mailing list, gestire progetti, attività e scadenze, programmare eventi speciali, feste e matrimoni, collegare foto a contatti, progetti ed eventi, gestire studenti, classi e appunti per le lezioni, eseguire ricerche in collezioni di vini e film, fare un inventario di oggetti, beni e attrezzature, registrare le ore fatturabili e i pagamenti dovuti, tenere un diario di dieta e ginnastica, memorizzare ricette e liste della spesa.
Bento 3 integra anche un supporto a Excel e Numbers per inserire i dati facilmente e di eseguire operazioni di ricerca e ordinamento e generare statistiche rapidamente. Inoltre è stato migliorata l’interazione con Rubrica Indirizzi e iCal permettendo non solo di aggiungere dettagli in più per ogni contatto ma permette di riportare le modifiche che apportate in Bento nella Rubrica Indirizzi e in iCal, e così il vostro account MobileMe, il vostro iPhone e il vostro iPod touch.
L’integrazione con iPhoto permette di conservare maggiori dettagli sulle proprio foto, come ad esempio il nome di chi ha scattato la foto, la flora e la fauna presenti, o le indicazioni per raggiungere il luogo fotografato.
Inoltre, è facile collegare le foto ai contatti, progetti ed eventi salvati in Bento, in modo da fornire una panoramica più completa in un’unica schermata.

iPhoto è l’applicazione Apple più usata. Inserita nel pacchetto iLife ’09, pre-installata su tutti i Mac, permette di organizzare e migliorare le fotografie scattate con la propria fotocamera digitale. Molteplici sono le funzioni a disposizione, da quelle prettamente dedicate all’organizzazione, come la creazione di Album, Album smart, il riconoscimento facciale, il geotagging e i contrassegni, a quelle per il miglioramento dei colori, gli effetti speciali, l’eliminazione di macchie e dell’effetto occhi rossi, ritagli e raddrizzamenti.
